So yesterday was Stitch’s birthday – October 24, and he celebrated in a very big way. Some may say that Stitch is spoiled, but we don’t agree. He deserves his cake and eat it, too. After a day out at the spa, Stitch felt rejuvenated, and decided to do some shopping. He goes crazy when we even just drive by PetCo – I think he’s the first dog I’ve known who’s actually learned the PetCo AND PetSmart logos, and will go absolutely nuts if he sees them. These companies must really know a little something about branding, if our four-legged friends are able to recognize them.
Of course, one of Stitch’s favorite words is, “shopping.” One mention of it, and little images of the PetCo logo start flying around his head.
After a bit of shopping and spot of lunch, Stitch stopped by his favorite dog park to say hi to his friends and brag about it being his birthday. He doesn’t know that everyone else has one too.
His presents were waiting for him at home, and he lit up when he saw them. It didn’t take him long to tear into them and pull them out. A new harness, leash, a nifty plush snake in a basket and even a dragon – Stitch had the time of his life. He somehow knew the cake was for him. I pulled it out of the fridge – he was hovering around me, excited for the treat. An amazing carob cake with peanut butter dog biscuits - totally human edible, so I had a bite myself!
Happy birthday, Stitch – the world’s most amazing dog and Chairman of Stitches ‘n Dishes.
