Andrew is a jack of all trades at Stitches ‘n Dishes. He curates recipes from Food Network’s Eat St, researches news for the news stories that Chris writes, and he’s usually the guy behind the camera whenever we film stuff. Andrew’s also photography assistant for our food reviews and helps coordinate our event activities. He’s a handy guy all around.
Andrew was born in Castro Valley, CA and grew up in the catering, concessions and entertainment industries. His dad, Nick was the assistant production manager at Bill Graham Presents, then went on to create his own catering companies, serving the entertainment and amusement industries. He created Fillmore Fingers which catered TV shows and movies filmed in Northern California, then he created a company called FanFare Enterprises, which became the leader in recreational and leisure food industry in all of California.
Andrew worked with his dad along with his mom, two brothers and his sister for about six years before the company merged with Ovations Food Service, the leader on the East Coast. The family continues to work with Nick at Ovations, but his mom manages VIP events, his brother, Dominic now owns his own catering business called Mangiata Catering, his brother, Nick is a co-owner of a concession stand called Gourmet Poppers, and his sister, Christina is the food and beverage coordinator for an event planning company.
You can sometimes find Andrew working with his brother, Nick at Gourmet Poppers, too. Andrew left Castro Valley to explore Washington state, then Los Angeles, then returned to the Bay Area a few years ago. He now lives in Rancho Cordova, CA.
Andrew’s always been a film buff, and will someday direct a feature horror flick! He recently shot the footage of his dad making the world’s largest commercially available hamburger for the Guinness Book of Records. That was the proudest day of his life. Maybe there’s a horror flick in that for Andrew (Attack of the 777 Pound Hamburger?).
