Stitch, an American Staff. Terrier mix / Bichon Frise, was born October 24, 2010… somewhere. At six months, Stitch found himself homeless, then soon after was taken into custody by Animal Control. See, Stitch wasn’t supposed to be… his mom came from a long line of pure-bred Bichon Frise, but she somehow met an American Staff. Terrier and fell in love.
Don’t worry, if you don’t know what a Bichon Frise is, we didn’t either. It sounds like something you’d order at Starbucks. “I’ll have an iced Bichon Frise, upside down with whipped cream and drizzle please…”
An odd looking couple, being that the American Staff. Terrier is about five times larger than the tiny, toy poodle-like Bichon, it seems that love really has no boundaries, as they say. Unfortunately, Stitch’s mom’s owners felt differently, and sent him, his brothers and sisters away. Animal Control is death row for animals, and Stitch’s time was running out, fast.
The good people at the San Francisco SPCA rescued Stitch from being euthanized on May 26, 2011, two days after his 6-month birthday, and as fate would have it, we met him the day after he arrived.
Stitch is a food connoisseur, and he constantly wants to change-up his menu; his latest creation: dry food: Blue Buffalo chicken flavor, with some Starkist White Tuna mixed in. Who knows where he comes up with these ideas, but his kitchen skills have earned him the title of Master Chef around here! Stitch will take any chance he can to get out and socialize and go shopping. He’s sharp as a tack, and can spot the PetSmart or PetCo logos a mile away.
He picked out the chef’s hat at that he’s wearing in the drawing on our logo – that’s actually a photo converted to a drawing!
Stitch is the official house chef and Chairman at Stitches ‘n Dishes.
